15 – 16 June 2026
Reading time:

The International Meeting of the World Pharmacopoeias (IMWP) is an annual event where world pharmacopoeias, including national, regional and international pharmacopoeias, convene to share their experience and expertise. The goal of the meetings is to find ways of working together to synchronize efforts to improve public health outcomes. The sixteenth IMWP was co-hosted by Anvisa and the World Health Organization (WHO) in Brasilia, Brazil, from 15 to 16 June 2026, with a stakeholder event on 17 June 2026. Fifty-one participants joined this hybrid meeting, representing 17 pharmacopoeia organizations. During the meeting, world pharmacopoeias shared their experience and information on news and work undertaken since the last meeting in 2025 to support national and global public health. The meeting also reviewed the progress of ongoing joint projects and identified new areas for collaboration.
